Hi,
On Tourstart we have TourPlan which is your personal planning dashboard, where you can use your content on Tourstart as a part of your tour planning. Select what you like, and  build a route from your home position or where ever you are in the world.

When the plans are done, you can create a PDF and download the GPS data into your Garmin GPS.  Now the tour can be shared with frinds, and you will have all necessary information at hand during the ride in the PDF.

Hi,
On www.tourstart.org we have another feature to share with you. - Bike clubs

You can create your own bike club and share

  • activites of your bike club, and download in PDF format
  • calendar overview
  • tours you ride in the club, with GPS data ready for your Garmin
  • blog
  • position of the clup on the map, with GPS formats

On the index page you can get an overview of the bike clubs created on your country

Click once, and you will see the pop-up giving a small description of the club with pictures and videos

Then click to view all, and you are diverted to the page of the bike club, where you can see all info of the bike club

Tourstart – tour

Hi,
Last week I wrote a bit about Activity. Now it is time to write about Tours. First you need to get an overview of what has been uploaded recently, which are done on the index page.

When you mouse over either the name in the list, or the starting point, the entire route will highlight. Does it looks interesting? Then double click, and you can see the entire info.

Here you will see a general description and some general picture. What we have done is also to enable a description of each point in the route, so you can see pictures and a detailed description. If you like it, the you now have two options:
1) Download as PDF
2) Download the GPS data

Hmmm – this one has not been downloaded yet – so you might be the first…?

Try to surf on tours uploaded by some local guys in an area you want to visit, and I am sure you will be exicted about all the tips & tricks.

Hi,
Now that we are beta live, I will like to update you on the functionallities on www.tourstart.org.

How to view an activity?
On the index page you will get a quick overview of the activities.

How to view the activity?
Just click on the activity, and it will open in a new window, where you can read all about it.
Further you can:

  • get an notification in due time so you do not miss the activity
  • Download as PDF, so you just print and go
  • Download GPS data
  • -and much more…

Can I see it in a calendar?
Yes – just click on the calendar view, and you can quickly get an overview of the dates.

How to create an activity?
Just go to “Create activity” and fill in the few fields, such as:

  • Headline
  • Description
  • When
  • Where
  • Pictures/videos

Beta release of www.tourstart.org

Hi,

We are now ready to welcome motorcyclists who are willing to become beta tester on www.tourstart.org. We have now been devloping the web site for pretty long, and we need some fresh eyes on the result before we go public live. Avoiding bugs are not realistic, why we ask 50 beta users per country to check out the web site for us, so when it is open, the major bugs are removed.

The functions on the web site are:
Activity – Share your activity with fellow bikers. Download GPS formats and PDF of the activity
Tours – Share your favorite tour with fellow bikers. Download GPS formats and PDF of the tour
BikeClub – Create your bike club, and create activities and tours linked to the bike club.
